Interpersonal Neurobiology

Magdalena is certified in Interpersonal Neurobiology developed and promoted by Dr. Daniel Siegel. This is a current, research and science based approach to understanding individuals and relationships. She combines this training with the expanded capacity for right and not left brain processing which lies at the core of clinical expertise. This can help people understand themselves in relation to their life journey. Specifically, how their significant past experiences, present realities, and future goals, hopes and dreams might be interconnected in beneficial and detrimental ways.

The highest human functions like stress regulation, having good relationships, humor, having fun, having empathy, compassion, a creative life and moral thinking are all right brain functions. The expanded capacity for right and not left brain processing (talking therapy), lies at the core of clinical therapy. Magdalena often provides short term counselling and before her clients leave, she teaches them self healing practices for their Body/Mind/Spirit Health which is self soothing, relaxation, self compassion, self acceptance and loving kindness to themselves.

Treatment Modalities

Magdalena uses a number of different treatment modalities in the treatment of her clients. Some of these include:sensorimotor psychotherapy, play therapy, creative art therapy, sand tray therapy, guided meditation therapy, somatic experiences therapy, self expressive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution focused family therapy, attachment focused family therapy, body-mind-atunement therapy and Jungian Theory therapy.

Attachment Focused Family Therapy and Creative Art and Play Therapy are used to encourage children, teens and parents to act our their issues and fantasies and express their feelings in a positive and controlled setting.
